Biotechnical Systems Engineering
Do you like exploring new areas of knowledge, think pro-ecologically and innovatively, are you interested in the natural environment, but you also have an engineering flair? We have a great offer for you.
Biotechnical Systems Engineering is just for you!
Our studies will provide you with knowledge and skills in the field of construction and operation of specialized machines in their work environment. You will obtain engineering competences and a number of specific professional qualifications (saws course, SEP certificate, Certificates ECDL, Cisco, ASTOR, Siemens etc.).
After completing the course, you will be prepared to perform in an innovative way, using modern methods and IT tools, various engineering tasks related to the operation, operation and repair of machines and devices used in their work environment (agriculture, forestry, municipal economy, food production).
The biotechnical system in the context of the presented direction should be understood as a system of three interrelated factors: man, environment, machine. Thus, biotechnical systems engineering is concerned with the design, production and control of processes and facilities that function in the widely considered environment. The area of operation of biotechnical systems is considered to be both the natural environment and production systems in which raw materials of biological origin are processed.
Direction Engineering of biotechnical systems is assigned to the area of technical sciences. The learning outcomes relate mainly to the area of education in engineering and technical sciences, and the aim of education is to provide knowledge and skills in the field of construction and operation of specialized machines in their work environment. This field of study also covers all learning outcomes and to obtain engineering competences. The presented field of study is closely related to mechanical engineering, as it contains elements related to the design, construction and operation of technical facilities and machines typical of this discipline. Biotechnical Systems Engineering is a multifaceted field of study, providing knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering.
The concept of education is focused on the graduate being a competent engineer who understands the essence of engineering solutions and their relation to natural objects. The sphere of didactics is inextricably linked with scientific research and interdisciplinary research and development, mainly in the field of mechanical engineering.
Qualification
Qualification for first-cycle studies is based on the results obtained in the matriculation examination in one of the three subjects math or chemistry or physics.
First-cycle studies with a general academic profile in the field of Biotechnical Systems Engineering are conducted as 7. full-time semester studies. The total number of ECTS points that can be obtained within the course of studies is 210 (30 in each semester of study). Since 5. During the semester, students choose one of two modules: design of working machines or technical and IT systems. An integral element of the program is the execution of an interdisciplinary project, which will also be an engineering work. The project will last three semesters and each of them should involve 2-3 students and two tutors. The main goal of this element of the study program is the practical use of the acquired knowledge (most projects should be implemented in the form of prototypes, models, implementations, etc.), learning to work in a team, learning project management.
PROFESSIONAL PERSPECTIVES
The course is intended for candidates with technical predispositions and orientation. The aim of education in this field is to prepare the graduate to independently formulate, analyze and solve engineering problems in the field of design, manufacture and operation of machines and devices. The ISB study program prepares highly qualified specialists combining knowledge of technology, production organization, modern methods and techniques of manufacturing with the use of computer aided, necessary to control processes in order to improve their efficiency. Graduates of this field of study may be employed:
- in the machinery and related industries, in plants dealing with the production and operation of machines,
- in design, construction and technological units as well as those related to the organization of production and automation of technological processes,
- in units of technical acceptance of products and materials, accreditation and attestation units,
- in research and consulting units,
- in other economic, administrative and educational units requiring technical and IT knowledge.
The scope of knowledge transferred during studies in the field of Biotechnical Systems Engineering provides graduates with opportunities to work in institutions such as: domestic and foreign scientific and research centers; colleges; specialized agricultural and agritourism farms; forest districts, forest research and development centers; enterprises specialized in the production and sale of agricultural, forestry, horticultural and agricultural equipment; local government and economic administration; agricultural advisory centers; marketing companies; agricultural chambers; lifelong and practical training centers.
1st DEGREE STUDIES
Biotechnical Systems Engineering, due to the main elements of learning outcomes, covers the areas of engineering and technical studies. As part of the discipline of engineering mechanical takes into account and highlights engineering issues related to the design and use of machines and working devices. Studies in the field of Biotechnical Systems Engineering include first-cycle engineering studies.
The learning outcomes for the ISB major relate to the field of engineering and technical sciences, the discipline of mechanical engineering, and to a small extent to the discipline of agriculture and horticulture. Biotechnical Systems Engineering, being a field of study that draws on experience in the field of technical sciences, is mainly focused on technical aspects related to the concept Mechanical engineering . At the 1st degree of studies, students receive the basics of knowledge and engineering skills, e.g. materials science, mechanics, strength of materials, theory of mechanisms and machines, basics of machine construction, hydraulic systems, thermodynamics, electrical engineering, energy management, basics of electronics, automation. Field of study Biotechnical Systems Engineering it also provides knowledge of natural science and social aspects of technical sciences.
